Choosing an attorney in Portland, OR can be a confusing task. At last count there were 91-pages of attorneys in the Yellow pages. Our goal here is to recommend some general guidelines when selecting an attorney and to list the contact information for a few attorneys that previous patients of our have had satisfactory experiences with. The following information is with regards to personal injury attorneys, motor vehicle accidents and work related injuries.

Always consult with an attorney if you have been injured at work or in a car accident. Consultations should be free and you should feel comfortable with your attorney. This is the time to see if you two can work well together. Most attorneys will let you know up front if it is worth their time and your time to pursue payment for damages incurred. Feel free to get a second oppinion.

Auto injuries

Did you know? Massage, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy are often 100% covered by auto insurance when you are in a car accident.

Portland, Oregon Motor Vehicle Injury Q & A.

Do you know what to do in case of a car accident?

Oregon Motor Vehicle Accident Checklist

What you must do after a car accident according to the Oregon DMV official website:

1. Stop at once.

2. Render aid.

3. Exchange information. Accident Information Exchange Checklist

4. Report the accident to DMV: if there were damages over $1,500 to the vehicles or property, if anyone was injured, or killed, or if any vehicle is towed due to damages from the accident Accident and Insurance Report Form within 72 hours. Accidents on areas open for the use of motor vehicles -- premises open to the public -- must be reported. Some drivers who are in accidents offer to fix the damage and try to get the other driver not to file a report. If you agree to do this, you are breaking the law if the amount of damage is more than $1500.

5. Keep a copy of your accident report. Under Oregon law 802.220(5), DMV can not provide you a copy of your Accident Report. If you wish to have a complete copy of your report (front and back), you will need to make a copy for your records.

What you should do after an accident and completing the above steps:

1.     Schedule a check-up appointment with your Chiropractor by calling 503-626-5761 for yourself and your family if they were in the car with you.

Important information

1. There will be no initial cost to you.

2. You will prevent overt and underlying injuries from rapidly progressing.

3. We can see your entire family at one time because we have multiple doctors to better serve you and save you time.

4. If our doctor find that you have sustained injuries from the car accident that do not require immediate hospitalization then you are qualified to begin a routine of Chiropractic (adjustments), Massage (manual therapy) and natural Physiotherapy treatment (stretching, gait training, sensory integration, therapeutic exercises, mechanical traction, neuromuscular rehabilitation, ice and heat).

5. Oregon's mandatory liability insurance law (Personal Injury Protection) provides those people who have suffered from injuries in an automobile accident a minimum of $15,000 per person for reasonable and necessary expenses one year after an automobile crash, for Chiropractic, Medical, Dental and other services needed due to the crash.

6. If you have been injured in an auto accident, the Drs. Pierce highly recommend that you contact a Portland injury attorney to discuss your legal rights.
